Unique Christmas gifts for the green-hearted

Unique gifts that are green and stylish and fun and practical aren’t as hard to find as you might think, if you know where to look.

Consider these gorgeous brass hoop earrings, made with recycled glass and sustainably sourced brass, ethically produced in Africa based on traditional designs.

These “eco cool” watches by WeWood are a definite conversation starter. WeWood fashion watches “are as natural and kind as the wrist that carries it,” the perfect natural mate. Plus, for every WeWood watch sold, the company plants a tree.

Artisans hand-carve the discarded root balls of Chinese fir trees into magnificent bowls whose sides undulate like petrified flower petals. Equally at home as centerpieces, fruit bowls or natural sculptures, each one is as unique as its tree of origin. Not recommended for cooked foods or liquids.  Root of the Earth bowls from Viva Terra.

Food Kozies, a great way to stop using plastic sandwich bags, are made from LDPE (low-density polyethylene, free of BPA, phthalates, PVC and lead). These reusable plastic wraps neatly contain sandwiches, bagels, tortilla roll-ups, meat and cheese slices, fruit, cut vegetables, or whatever you like. Velcro closures hold it all together. And they clean up easily: just hand-wash them and let them air dry.

Selected as one of the top products at the 2010 Salone del Mobile,
Hut-Hut Kids Resin is a playful reinterpretation of the rocking horse—"Hut hut" is what you tell a camel when you want it to "giddy up." Its broad, low, rocking form offers a playful and safe way for toddlers and children to explore and learn balance. Made from 100 per cent recycled sustainable resin in 5 candy-bright colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Pink.

Actually, i love the root of earth bowls, as long as they're not digging up ancient trees just for the sake of these gifts.
